Doug Brenner has extensive experience with leading and developing technology-driven companies in the fields of medical devices, healthcare, and data analytics. His business career began with building and selling a medical device company, followed by a turnaround in high-volume manufacturing, and rapid growth in telecommunications. This experience led to his joining Ancor’s largest portfolio company, Avail Medical Products, to position it for scale and rapid growth, prior to its acquisition by Flextronics and his transition to leading the Avail team at FlexMedical.
Rejoining Ancor after leading a biotech company, Cosmos ID, in the development of metagenomic analytics, he led two additional portfolio companies, HealthTrackRx (laboratory diagnostics) and STATinMED (health economics outcomes research). Currently, Doug is the Chief Operating Officer for portfolio company, Stratus, the nation’s leader in ambulatory video EEG, with concurrent interests in developing its AI subsidiary, MERLN, for the discovery and commercialization of EEG biomarkers.
Doug earned A.B. (summa cum laude), A.M., and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry from Harvard University, an M.B.A. from the Anderson School, UCLA, and is co-inventor on 14 patents. Doug and his wife, Sharon, have been married for 28 years and live in Colleyville, TX. They have two grown twins, are passionate about family and helping others, and enjoy traveling to experience other cultures and perspectives on life.
